Countries

The IATC is an international organization that fosters transnational collaboration and the exchange of knowledge across borders in the field of pediatric anesthesiology. For this reason it constantly aims to increase the regional scope of its activities. The ultimate goal is to be represented on all continents.

Currently the regional focus of the IATC’s work is on Europe. The IATC was founded in Switzerland and Germany – these two countries form its institutional backbone. The first activities of the IATC were carried out in Moldova in 2007, which has rapidly developed into a best practice example. Supported by the IATC, the Republic of Moldova has achieved great progress in the fields of medical training and modernizing anesthesia equipment. A further country that the IATC is heavily engaged with is Serbia. Here, the IATC focuses primarily on improving continued education.

While the IATC is already present in various countries, the long-term goal is to carry out more country programs. For the moment, the main emphasis with regard to running programs and expansion is laid on Central and Eastern Europe.
